The Traxxas Sledge is a 1/8 scale, 4WD, brushless electric monster truck. It comes with a TQi 2.4GHz radio system that is Traxxas Link enabled and features Traxxas Stability Management (TSM) - all in a striking red color.
The truck is equipped with a VXL-6s™ Waterproof Electronic Speed Control that is compatible with 6s LiPo batteries. It has an integrated cooling fan and provides real-time telemetry via Traxxas Link™. The speed control has 3-LED status indicators, powered accessory ports, 10-gauge silicone wire, and integrated protection circuits.
The truck’s power comes from a Velineon® 2000 kV Brushless Motor. This 4-pole, 2000 kV motor has a 5 mm output shaft and a finned can for better heat dissipation. It is mounted on an aluminum motor cradle that supports the entire motor length and reduces flex for longer gear life. With two 3s LiPo batteries (sold separately), the truck can reach speeds of up to 70+ mph.
The Traxxas Stability Management® system helps prevent spinouts and loss of control, without dulling the throttle or slowing the truck. It can be adjusted from off to 100% assistance from the transmitter.
The TQi™ 2.4 GHz High Output Radio System includes a TQi 2-channel transmitter that is Traxxas Link enabled. It comes with a 2.4 GHz 5-channel micro receiver (6533) with fail-safe security and integrated telemetry ports. The system automatically stores and loads settings for up to 30 Traxxas Link-enabled models—just switch on and drive, “model selection” is not required. It also features a programmable Multi-Function knob and adjustable steering and throttle percentage (dual rates) and sensitivity (exponential).
The drivetrain is full-time 4-wheel drive with heavy-duty steel driveshafts, large 8 mm steel stub axles, a steel dogbone center driveline, and protective rubber boots on differential inputs.
The transmission features Mod-1 pinion and spur gears and a fixed gear mesh system. It also has a Torque-Biasing Center Drive.
The differentials are heavy-duty sealed 4-gear design with large scale steel ring and pinion gears, large 8 mm output shafts, steel drive cups, and easy access bulkheads.
The GT-Maxx®Shocks are longer in the rear for more travel. They have a machined aluminum threaded body, extra-large bore and capacity, large-diameter damper shaft, lower seal cartridge with dual X-rings, height-adjustable spring retainer, and lower spring perches that are bolted on.
The suspension features thick 5 mm 6061-T6 aluminum shock towers, ultra-tough composite arms made from our strongest cold-weather material, molded insert for a clean look, rear rock deflectors, press-in hinge pins to reduce play, oversize molded toe and camber links, heavy-duty C-hubs with oversize bearings, and multiple mounting points for suspension tuning.
The chassis is a 3.2 mm ribbed aluminum design with formed edges for improved strength, a thick aluminum T-Bar™ for added rigidity, high-strength buttressing on shock towers, a rugged locking battery compartment with a quick-release door, a low-CG design for improved handling, interlocking components for tight tolerances, tough front and rear bumpers that double as skid plates, and hidden wire management for a clean appearance.
The Clipless ProGraphix® Body features a one-handed clipless body mounting system, a rigid internal frame, molded body reinforcements for tear-through protection, protective roof skids, and a rugged high-downforce rear wing.
The steering system includes a waterproof 2275 metal gear servo with 347 oz-in torque, a high-throw bellcrank steering design, a heavy-duty servo saver with aluminum posts, and a metal servo horn.
The wheels and tires include huge 6.7″ Sledgehammer all-terrain tires with a belted carcass that resists ballooning, tough 3.8″ black wheels, and splined 17 mm aluminum axle hubs.
